Supported Gym Visits

There is a growing body of evidence showing the importance of exercise for those with neurological conditions and at Bristol Neurophysio, we're keen to support our clients to be as active as possible.

We understand however that exercise is often difficult for our client group, due to issues with mobility, fatigue and confidence etc and accessing gyms or swimming pools can feel daunting at times.

At Bristol Neurophysio, we have a lot of knowledge and experience of working with clients at leisure facilities in Bristol and the surrounding area.  We are able to help you to access local gyms and swimming pools and support you to exercise in a way which is safe and effective and will help lead to you reaching your full potential in terms of fitness and functional ability.

We frequently work alongside fitness instructors in local gyms to assist with any concerns regarding neurological conditions and we can also offer one-to-one personal training with Rowan, who has extensive experience of working with clients with neurological conditions in their own homes, local parks or gyms.

Some kind words

Our daughter’s renal failure means that she is delayed with standing and walking at 2 and half years of age. We first started seeing Jules a few months back for an intense block of physiotherapy to build the strength and skills needed for her to eventually stand and walk.  It was really important that the physiotherapist specialised in paediatrics and could work alongside the NHS physiotherapists we also see. Jules immediately put us at ease with her friendly and professional approach and has built a good, trusting relationship with our daughter.  She uses play as a way to get our daughter to engage with the therapy.  Our daughter has really enjoyed all her physio sessions to date and we have seen a notable improvement in her movement.  She has begun to pull herself up and can climb up small steps as well as shuffle down stairs in a controlled manner!
